We have a great opportunity for AZ/DZ drivers looking to join a reliable winter operations team in the Thunder Bay (Blake, Spruce, Nipigon) and Greenstone (Geraldton, Longlac, Beardmore) regions of Northern Ontario.
What We Offer:
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Competitive hourly rate: $29.07/hr
- Night shift premium & AZ designation bonus
- End-of-season bonus
- Meal allowance for live-in operators
- Overtime opportunities during storms (up to 60–70 hours/week mid-winter)
- 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights)
Qualifications:
- Valid AZ or DZ license
- Experience operating snowplows or heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to work in extreme winter weather and extended hours during snow events
- Perform daily commercial vehicle inspections and complete safety checks; report defects as required
- Comply with Ministry of Transportation hours-of-service regulations
- Operate snowplow and salt truck to remove ice and snow from assigned routes
- Ensure that roads under your responsibility are safely cleared when required
- Perform snow shoveling, grounds maintenance, and other duties related to winter road operations
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance such as fueling, greasing, and basic repairs
- Report all equipment issues and incidents to Supervisor(s)
Requirements:
- Valid AZ/DZ License
- Clean CVOR/Abstract and Criminal Background Check (if required)
- Experience preferred but not mandatory (training available for qualified drivers)
