Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Procurement Coordinator to join their growing team.
What we offer:
- Location: Toronto, ON M4Y 1X4
- Type of Job: Temp, Contract
- Pay: $ 34/hr. – 47/hr. Depending on experience
- Start Date: April 20, 2026, to January 15, 2027
- Shift: Days, Monday to Friday,36.25 hours per week or 7.25 hours per day
- Hours of work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What you’ll do:
- To coordinate and to provide expert advice for a variety of procurement, contract management and outsourcing service processes and initiatives from planning to implementation for the agency.
- To lead procurements and second stage procurement process under the direction of the Procurement Consultant.
- To act as the primary contact for the retrieval of documentation from past procurements by ensuring a quality filing system for all procurements which is accurate, accessible and complete.
- Support the implementation of the agency’s province-wide assessments by gathering information, preparing documentation, consulting with management and assisting with analysis for logistical procurement needs.
- Assists in the competitive tender process by helping prepare Request for Services (RFS) documents, ensuring they follow established procurement and OPS rules and guidelines.
- Contributes to the development of procurement plans, including development of procurement strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, changing business practices, and the preparation of procurement-related documents.
- Maintains positive working relationships with vendor community by responding to inquiries, providing clarification on procurement procedures and escalating issues when needed.
- Prepares memos for senior management on updates to current policies, changes to directives and new procedures.
- Attends agency’s procurement meetings to take notes, track action items, and provide basic updates on procurement activities.
- Assist in reviewing and updating internal procurement and contract management procedures to align with OPS directives and support efficient administrative practices.
- Demonstrates working of internet systems, applications, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications to support procurement tasks and documentation.
What we're looking for:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Must have 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management role in a public sector, provincial agency, or broader public sector setting
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Project, Excel trackers, SharePoint), Use of procurement tools (e.g. RFP, RFQ, VOR)
- Must have Strong negotiation, organizational, time management, and communication skills
