Our client is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team in Cornwall, Ontario. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this individual will play a key leadership role in shaping and overseeing safety, health, and environmental programs across Canadian and U.S. operations. What you’ll do
- Ensure full compliance with Canadian and U.S. Safety, Health & Environmental regulations across multiple sites
- Lead safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene programs, including audits, monitoring, and reporting
- Develop and implement proactive safety strategies to reduce incidents and improve workplace performance
- Act as a key advisor to leadership, providing insights on regulatory changes and operational risk
- Oversee environmental compliance and reporting (NPRI, MOE, MISA, CEPA)
- Manage incident investigations, trend analysis, and corrective action plans to eliminate risk
- Represent management on the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)
- Lead WSIB claims management, including case resolution and appeals
- Drive training, communication, and compliance initiatives (WHMIS, First Aid, Lockout/Tagout, etc.)
- Coach and mentor leaders and staff to embed a strong safety-first culture across the organization
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related field)
- CRSP and/or CHSC designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of Canadian health & safety legislation (U.S. exposure is an asset)
- 5+ years of Health & Safety leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and improve safety & environmental programs
- Experience managing WSIB claims and return-to-work processes
- Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risk and drive corrective action
- Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and build a safety-first culture
