Commercial Sales Manager – Furniture

Location: Ontario, Canada – Remote working with travel

Work Type: Permanent

Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 with commission and bonus pay out.

Our Client is a fast-growing ergonomic office furniture brand specializing in sit-stand desks, task seating, and acoustic solutions. With an established retail operation in Australia, Canada and America and a commercial division in Australia. They are now building their Canadian commercial division focusing on B2B sales and pursing large orders. 

 

Why This Role 

This is a founding role for the Canadian operation. You'll be the first commercial hire on the ground, which means you'll need to be genuinely versatile — converting inbound enquiries, developing new relationships, preparing quotes, coordinating orders, and reporting on pipeline, often on the same day.
Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager and Managing Director and working alongside the existing Canadian customer service team. In the first six months, the focus is on servicing current enquiry flow through, increasing the conversation, expanding the relationships and setting up the supporting resources to better service these clients. After which the focus will be on developing and seizing new avenues for growth.
This role suits someone who knows the Canadian commercial furniture market well, is comfortable working autonomously, and has the ambition to build something from the ground up.

 

What you will do
  • Own and grow relationships with large organizations, fit out companies, designers and other repeat customers.
  • Service and convert inbound commercial enquiries
  • Prepare quotes and pricing proposals
  • Coordinate orders and fulfilment in collaboration with our other team members and local logistics partners
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular reporting on revenue, forecasts, and account activity
  • Liaise across finance, purchasing, and customer experience to keep accounts running smoothly
  • Attend client meetings and site visits across Canada as required
  • Contribute to shaping how the Canadian division grows — your market knowledge will directly influence our strategy


What You’ll Bring 

  • Direct experience in the Canadian commercial furniture or office fit-out market — this is essential, not preferred
  • A genuine all-rounder: equally comfortable in a client meeting, preparing a quote, and chasing a delivery update
  • Proven track record in both new business development and account management (preferred)
  • Experience with quoting and costing
  • Familiarity with RFP, RFQ, and government or institutional procurement processes
  • Self-directed and organized — this is a remote role with real autonomy and accountability
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an advantage given the Quebec market
