The Role: Red Seal Electrician
In this role, you will spend most of your time installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components in residential, commercial, and HVAC-R applications. You will work closely with HVAC technicians, apprentices, and customers and be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical installations and repairs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Install, service, and repair electrical systems, wiring, panels, controls, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigeration systems, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
- Perform panel upgrades, inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial regulations, and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and provide exceptional customer service.
- Support apprentices and collaborate with technicians to resolve complex electrical and controls-related issues.
What You'll Bring
- Red Seal Electrician certification.
- Valid New Brunswick electrical licence (where required).
- Experience in residential, commercial, or HVAC-R electrical work.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
- Experience with heat pumps, refrigeration systems, HVAC controls, or building automation systems is considered a strong asset.
