Our client a privately owned, industry leader in aluminum casting, is currently recruiting PLC Programmer. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and will require you to design, troubleshoot and maximize production efficiency.

What you do: 
  • Develop and modify documents as well as maintain PLC programs and control logic for all production. 
  •  Use Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation in accordance with technical specifications/SOPs/standard practices/OEM resources as needed
  • Designs programs and commission HMI/SCADA screens
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot control system for PLCs, HMIs, drives. 
  • Support capital projects and equipment installations by providing controls engineering input.
  • Responsible for work orders and project tasks as scheduled . 
  • Collaborating Engineering and Production you will support process optimization.
  • Support on-site contractors and OEM technicians as necessary for project or maintenance activity
  • Train maintenance and operations staff on control system operation. 
  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned
Who you are:
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on PLC programming experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficiency in Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
  • Experience in die casting, or metal processing environment would be an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong electrical or millwright background would be an asset
