Our client, located in Perth, requires a Licensed and Certified Millwright/Mechanic to join their growing team.
What We Offer:
- Hourly rate of pay: $35-45 hourly
- Job type: Permanent
- Shift: The company runs 24/5 and the maintenance team works an 8-hour shift between 6am-5pm (flexible) and OT or emergency hours are managed accordingly, however will be required based on the needs of the business
What you are doing:
- Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, mill, surface grinder (cylindrical and linear) and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Leads apprentices and directs them to ensure successful task completion
- Ensure ongoing compliance with provincial standards and legislation
- Other duties as assigned
What you need:
- Completed apprenticeship program
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with a red seal
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent (an asset)
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience (an asset)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Lead hand experience (an asset)
