Industrial Safety Attendant 

Our client in the Saint John, NB area is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Industrial Safety Attendants. This organization is an industrial rescue, safety, and training provider offering confined space monitoring, high‑angle rescue standby, and comprehensive safety program support across the Maritimes.

A Safety Attendant (Hole Watch) is responsible for monitoring confined space work to ensure worker safety, environmental safety, and compliance with safety procedures. Attendance and reliability are critical—if Safety Attendants are not present, work cannot proceed.
Please note: This role requires a day of unpaid training. 

What we offer
  • $20 per hour
  • Primarily 12‑hour shifts (7:30am–7:30pm & 7:30pm–7:30am)
  • Overtime pay
  • On‑site training (unpaid)
  • Work for April confirmed and more work in the future
 
What you do
  • Monitor activities inside confined spaces to ensure worker and environmental safety
  • Remain stationed at the confined space entry point whenever work is being performed
  • Watch for hazards and signs of atmospheric issues requiring rescue initiation
  • Maintain entry logs and track personnel entering/exiting the space
  • Manage confined space permits and Confined Space Code of Practice documentation
  • Assist with paperwork such as rescue plans, toolbox talks, field tickets, and timesheets
  • Provide radio communications and maintain clear communication with workers and supervisors
  • Support standby rescue operations for confined space and high‑angle scenarios
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Show up on time and ready to work—attendance is essential
  • Perform other duties as required on industrial job sites
 
Who you are
  • Located in the Saint John, NB area (required)
  • Hold a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to speak and read English fluently
  • Able to pass a criminal record check and driver’s abstract
  • Highly reliable with excellent attendance
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and remaining alert
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment
  • A strong team player
 
  • Preferred certifications (asset but not required):
    1. Fall Protection
    2. Confined Space Entry
    3. Lockout/Tagout
  • Preferred experience (asset but not required):
    1. 1 year of maintenance or industrial work
