We’re Hiring: Automation & Robotics Specialist Quinte West, Ontario | Travel Required

On behalf of our Engineering Services client we’re looking for an Automation & Robotics Specialist to design, program, and commission custom automation and robotic systems across a wide range of industrial projects. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and working hands‑on from concept to startup, this role offers variety, responsibility, and room to grow.

What You’ll Do
  • Design automation and robotic solutions from concept through commissioning
  • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control architectures
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots
  • Support machine build, integration, troubleshooting, and field commissioning
  • Collaborate with designers, electricians, trades, and clients
  • Contribute to project quoting, design reviews, and risk assessments
What You Bring
  • Degree or diploma in Automation, Controls, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of industrial automation and controls experience
  • Hands‑on robotics experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team
Preferred Experience
  • PLCs: Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Omron
  • Robots: ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, UR
  • Vision systems and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet)
