We're seeking a Project Development Specialist to join a General Contractor specializing in commercial and industrial construction in Edmonton.

What We Offer
  • Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Benefits: Commission program (3% of realized profit), company vehicle, RRSP employer match, Earned Day Off Program (every 4th

What You’ll Do
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients across commercial, industrial, and design‑build markets.
  • Lead early-stage project discussions, including feasibility assessments, budgeting expectations, delivery strategies, and scope definition.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring needs are captured accurately and communicated internally.
  • Work collaboratively with estimating to prepare conceptual budgets, preliminary schedules, proposals, and technical submissions.
  • Manage responses to RFIs and RFPs, preparing narratives, value propositions, and project delivery strategies.
  • Support early design coordination through constructability reviews and alignment between client intent and technical requirements.
  • Identify upcoming project opportunities and maintain strong visibility through industry events, networking, and site visits.
  • Maintain CRM data including pipeline updates, bid tracking, touchpoints, and client information.
  • Coordinate closely with estimating, design, and operations teams to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to internal project handovers, ensuring smooth transitions from development to execution.
  • Prepare monthly pipeline forecasts and share client insights and market trends with leadership.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, presentations, and association events.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to proposals, marketing materials, and the overall client experience.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in construction business development, pre‑construction, project coordination, or client‑facing GC roles.
  • Strong understanding of commercial or industrial construction methods, drawings, and project delivery models.
  • Existing industry relationships (commercial, industrial, or design‑build) are a strong asset.
  • Post‑secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or Business/Commerce preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to translate client needs into technical requirements and collaborate with internal teams to deliver accurate proposals.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing multiple active opportunities independently.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s licence and clean abstract.
  • Ability to travel within Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
