DZ/AZ Snowplow Operator- Greater Sudbury Area
We’re seeking new and experienced DZ/AZ Drivers to join our client’s winter road maintenance team as Snowplow Operators in the Greater Sudbury Area. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to kickstart or grow their career, gain hands-on winter driving experience, and work in an essential role that helps keep Ontario roads safe. No prior snowplow or AZ/DZ experience is required—paid training is provided.
What We Offer:
• Salary: $25.50 – $27.00 per hour (based on DZ or AZ license)
• Job Type/Shift: Seasonal contract, on-call; AM, PM, overnight shifts, weekends & holidays required
• Travel allowance for selected worksites (based on distance), bi-weekly pay with 80 guaranteed hours bi-weekly, paid training provided
What You’ll Do:
• Operate snowplow and salt trucks to remove snow and ice from roads and assigned areas
• Perform daily commercial vehicle inspections, complete safety checks, and report major/minor defects
• Ensure roads under responsibility are adequately and safely plowed when required
• Comply with Ministry of Transportation hours-of-service regulations
• Perform routine equipment maintenance such as fueling, greasing, fluid changes, and minor repairs
• Shovel snow, assist with grounds maintenance, and complete other related duties as assigned
• Report all equipment or operational incidents to Supervisor(s)
What We’re Looking For:
• Valid DZ or AZ License with clean CVOR and Driver Abstract
• No prior AZ/DZ driving experience required – training will be provided
• Flexibility to work day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Strong safety awareness and reliability
