The right person is a hands-on leader who thrives on coordinating people, maintaining productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is a natural next step for an experienced tradesperson or Lead Carpenter ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities.
Why This Role
This role offers the opportunity to lead skilled construction crews, oversee exciting ICI projects from start to finish, and play a key role in delivering successful builds. You'll gain exposure to a variety of commercial and institutional projects while further developing your leadership, planning, and project management capabilities. Unlike similar roles, this position provides significant autonomy on-site, allowing you to influence project outcomes, mentor team members, and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
The Role: Foreman
In this role, you will spend most of your time supervising field crews, coordinating daily construction activities, planning work schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to maintain project momentum and resolve site issues as they arise. This role balances hands-on leadership with planning, communication, quality control, and safety management, ensuring projects run efficiently from mobilization through completion.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor construction crews to ensure safe and productive work practices.
  • Coordinate daily work activities, labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to plan work effectively.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources to maintain timelines.
  • Conduct daily site meetings and communicate priorities to the crew.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and conduct regular toolbox talks.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues while minimizing project delays.
  • Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, and other trades.
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction, including experience leading construction crews.
  • Proven supervisory or foreman experience on ICI construction projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple trades and manage changing project priorities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Relevant trade certification (Journeyperson/Red Seal) is considered a strong asset.
Benefits & Environment
Benefits for this role include competitive compensation, comprehensive health and dental benefits, opportunities for professional development and career advancement, and the chance to lead diverse, high-impact ICI construction projects. You'll join a collaborative team that values safety, accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement, with the support and resources needed to succeed in a long-term construction leadership career.
