Why This Role
Drake International is seeking a hands-on Onsite Supervisor to coordinate and support a workforce of up to 50 temporary employees within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is responsible for ensuring team members are scheduled, dispatched and onsite for each shift, while acting as the key point of contact between Drake employees, the client and Drake’s recruitment team.
 
The Role: Onsite Supervisor and Dispatcher
  • Supervise and support a workforce of up to 50 temporary warehouse employees.
  • Build and maintain daily and weekly schedules based on client labour requirements.
  • Dispatch team members to shifts and assignments, ensuring all required positions are covered.
  • Manage call-outs, no-shows, late arrivals and last-minute schedule changes; dispatch replacement employees as required.
  • Confirm employee availability and communicate shift times, locations, assignments and changes.
  • Act as the primary onsite point of contact for Drake employees and client supervisors.
  • Conduct employee check-ins and ensure employees report to the correct work areas.
  • Monitor attendance, reliability, performance and workplace conduct; provide coaching when required.
  • Coordinate with Drake recruiters on upcoming staffing requirements, replacements and new-hire needs.
  • Support onboarding, orientations and first-day employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling, attendance, dispatch and employee records.
  • Verify hours worked and support accurate weekly payroll and timekeeping.
  • Provide regular staffing updates to Drake management and the client.
  • Promote and enforce Drake and client health and safety requirements.

What You’ll Bring
  • Previous experience in, dispatch, scheduling, warehouse operations or frontline supervision preferred.
  • Experience coordinating a large hourly workforce is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, communication and people-management skills.
  • Comfortable making frequent calls and responding quickly to staffing changes.
  • Strong attention to detail and working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and scheduling/timekeeping systems.
  • Warehouse, logistics, transportation or distribution experience is considered an asset.
