About the Company:
The City of Saint John is partnering with Drake International to welcome new and diverse talent as temporary labourers (40 hours per week) in the Parks & Recreation Department.
About the Role:

If you answered yes to the questions above, please read on! We’re hiring team-oriented, motivated temporary employees to join the Parks & Recreation Department for up to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Depending on experience and training, you may be assigned to work in:
- City parks and playgrounds.
- Mowing and public spaces.
- Outdoor sports facilities and field maintenance or recreational facilities.
- Potential responsibilities include landscaping and lawnmowing, maintaining outdoor facilities, working with parks and gardens, and/or urban forest maintenance.
Qualifications:
- You come to work every day in all weather, ready to work – and you're willing to work hard (Regular attendance is expected).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
- Applicants must undergo a Criminal Background Check as part of the hiring process.
- Applicants must provide a Drivers Abstract that is done within the last 30 days.
- Able to perform a variety of physical tasks.
- Ability to work with small crews or independently.
- Must have CSA approved work boots.
- Experience with lawn maintenance equipment, landscaping equipment, sports field maintenance equipment, or maintenance of flower and shrub beds is an asset.
- Horticulture or Arborist experience is an asset.
