Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Kingston, Ontario (Primarily On‑site)
Work Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: $60,000 – $85,000

This Assistant Project Manager role is ideal for a professional who enjoys structured, fast-moving project environments, solving coordination and communication gaps, and working within active ICI construction sites. The right person will recognize this role as a natural next step from Project Coordination or junior project delivery into a true project leadership track.

Why This Role

This role offers a clear pathway into Construction Project Management, exposure to end-to-end ICI project delivery, and the chance to develop ownership over scopes, budgets, and stakeholder coordination. This position is intentionally structured for progression by balancing hands-on project coordination toward gradual leadership responsibility.

The Role: Assistant Project Manager

In this role, you will spend most of your time supporting active construction projects through coordination, documentation, and communication management. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients, and be responsible for delivering outcomes related to project organization, schedule adherence, and execution flow.

This role balances technical project coordination with progressive ownership of scopes, budgets, and site-level decision making, providing clarity on expectations from day one.
Core responsibilities include:
  • Supporting RFIs, submittals, change orders, and document control (Procore or equivalent)
  • Assisting with procurement, tendering, and subcontract administration
  • Tracking schedules, costs, and project documentation
  • Coordinating trades and resolving site issues
  • Participating in cost control, forecasting, and change management
  • Gradually leading meetings and acting as a secondary stakeholder contact
  • Taking ownership of smaller project scopes or phases

What You’ll Bring

  • 1–5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project administration, or junior project management (ICI preferred) (non‑negotiable)
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field

Benefits & Environment

Benefits for this role include competitive compensation, clear mentorship and career progression, exposure to a stable pipeline of ICI work in Kingston & Belleville, and a working environment that supports long-term career growth, practical learning, and increasing responsibility rather than static support roles.
