Why This Role
The Shipper – Receiver is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of goods in a warehouse or distribution environment. This role involves ensuring that incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and stored, as well as preparing outgoing shipments for timely delivery to customers or other locations. The Shipper/Receiver plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse efficiency, and supporting the overall supply chain process. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products and materials within the warehouse.
The Role: Shipper – Receiver
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and quantity according to purchase orders, packing lists, or shipping manifests.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move products and materials.
- Unload shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Record receipt of goods in the inventory management system and update inventory levels.
- Examine goods for damage or defects and report discrepancies to supervisors or vendors.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to customer orders or company requirements.
- Label and document shipments, ensuring correct shipping addresses and tracking information.
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of shipments with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Verify shipping documentation, including bills of landing, packing slips, and delivery receipts.
- Participate in pump assemblies for shipments, reading drawings and blueprints.
- Ensure that goods are stored in the proper locations to optimize space and access in the warehouse.
- Organize products by category, size, or destination to streamline receiving and shipping operations.
- Inspect all goods received and shipped for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures, ensuring that equipment is maintained in good order.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety regulations and guidelines.
What You’ll Bring
- Must have High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Additional training or certification in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management is a plus.
- Must have 2 years plus of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Must have experience with inventory management systems and shipping software is highly desirable.
- Must have valid Forklift License.
- Must have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
- Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
