 Job Title: Lead Carpenter
Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Onsite)
Work Type: Permanent
Salary: $80,0000
Vacancy: Existing vacancy / Pipeline role

This Lead Carpenter role is ideal for a professional who enjoys leading teams on fast-paced Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projects, solving complex on-site construction challenges, and working within a collaborative, safety-first environment. The right person will recognize this role as a natural next step if they have extensive hands-on carpentry experience and are ready to take ownership of project execution, crew leadership, and quality outcomes.

Why This Role
This role offers the opportunity to lead high-profile ICI construction projects from start to finish, exposure to a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial builds, and the chance to further develop leadership, project coordination, and construction management skills. Unlike similar roles, this position emphasizes hands-on leadership, collaboration with multiple trades, and delivering exceptional workmanship while driving safety, productivity, and project success.

The Role: Lead Carpenter
In this role, you will spend most of your time supervising carpentry crews, coordinating daily site activities, performing complex carpentry work, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to deliver successful project outcomes. This role balances hands-on carpentry with crew leadership, planning, and quality control, providing clear expectations and ownership from day one.

What You'll Bring
  • Journeyperson Carpenter certification (or Red Seal equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction, including demonstrated experience leading carpentry crews.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, building codes, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to project sites.

Benefits & Environment
Benefits for this role include competitive compensation, comprehensive health and dental benefits, opportunities for ongoing training and career advancement, and the chance to work on diverse and impactful ICI construction projects. You'll join a collaborative, team-oriented environment that values craftsmanship, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while providing the support and resources needed to build a long-term career.
