We are currently recruiting for a hands‑on and people‑focused HR Manager (HR, Health & Safety & Training) to support a growing, multi‑site building supply operation in Eastern Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing human resources leadership, practical health & safety oversight, and retail‑focused training, while working closely with ownership and leadership in a fast‑evolving environment.

What You’ll Do:
Human Resources (Primary Focus)
- Lead full‑cycle recruitment, interviews, and onboarding
- Maintain accurate employee files, HR records, and training documentation
- Support performance management, employee relations, and workplace issues
- Provide guidance on Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices
- Partner with leadership on discipline, investigations, and employee challenges
- Track key people metrics including turnover, safety incidents, and training hours
Health & Safety
- Maintain and update health & safety policies in compliance with Ontario OHSA
- Coordinate and support Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, incident reporting, and investigations
- Manage WSIB claims, return‑to‑work programs, and Ministry of Labour documentation
- Coordinate required training (WHMIS, Forklift, Working at Heights, First Aid, etc.)
Training & Development
- Design and deliver onboarding programs for new hires
- Coordinate product knowledge and vendor‑led training sessions
- Track training completion, certifications, and ongoing development
- Support staff engagement initiatives and community involvement activities
What We’re Looking For:
- Post‑secondary education or formal training in Human Resources (Ontario‑based preferred)
- Experience in HR, workplace health & safety, and/or training coordination
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment law and OHSA requirements
- JHSC certification (or willingness to complete)
- Intermediate First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills
- Comfortable working across multiple locations
- Adaptable, people‑first mindset with interest in growing alongside the business
