Drake International is seeking a reliable and motivated Automotive Mechanic to join our client's growing team in the Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia area.
What we offer:
- Location: Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia area
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Job Type: Permanent Fulltime
- Pay Rate: $32/hour to $45/hour depending on experience ($45/hour for Red Seal), RRSP + healthcare benefits after 3 months.
What You’ll Do:
- inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues in vehicles or equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems (brakes, engines, transmissions).
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, tire service, tune-ups.
- Test repaired equipment for proper function and performance.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, work orders, and inventory.
- Fabricate parts using shop equipment.
- Follow safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout, safe work practices).
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all repairs and parts used.
- Collaborate with the team to complete service requests promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines while working in the shop environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Red Seal Automotive Technician certification preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive repair, ideally in a professional shop setting.
- Must be skilled in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Physical capability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) when required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Motor Vehicle Repairer (Service Station Mechanic) Trade Certification
