Drake International is hiring a Manager Financial Operations & Settlements in the Toronto area. 
 
What we offer:     
 
  • Location, Toronto, ON
  • Hybrid schedule: Hybrid 2 days in office (Mon/Tue). Hybrid 3 days in office as of Jan 26, 2026, with the possibility to turn into full time In Office at any point later in It is a 35-hour work week – Monday to Friday
  • Standard business hours are generally between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with flexibility as needed.
  • Pay: $35/hr.
  • Contract dates: January 5, 2026, to June 30, 2026
 
Reporting to the Supervisor, Central Services, the Manager Financial Operations & Settlements is responsible for the administration and oversight of financial settlements, budgeting, contract financial management, and financial controls in support of all programs. The role ensures compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements while providing subject matter expertise and leadership to internal stakeholders.
 
What You’ll Do: 
 
  • Administer and oversee monthly and annual settlement processes, accruals, reconciliations, and trust account cash flows
  • Monitor and reconcile settlement reports with service providers and internal systems
  • Ensure financial activity aligns with approved budgets, contracts, and governance requirements
  • Develop forecasts, variance analyses, and financial reports to support management decision-making
  • Oversee financial aspects of service provider and fulfillment contracts, including performance monitoring
  • Identify, document, and resolve financial and settlement issues; escalate risks as required
  • Develop, document, and enforce financial controls and operational risk mitigation measures
  • Provide subject matter expertise and settlement support to teams and internal stakeholders
  • Support audits, HST assessments, and other financial reviews
  • Provide functional guidance and oversight to junior staff and cross-functional contributors
 
What We’re Looking For: 
 
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting designation preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in financial operations, settlements, accounting, or contract management
  • Experience in a regulated, public-sector, utility, or energy environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and contract financial management
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
