Position Summary:
The Driver Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and execution of winter maintenance operations within the Timmins contract. This role provides leadership to operational staff, ensures compliance with contractual obligations, oversees safety and maintenance activities, and serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead day-to-day operations while maintaining company standards for safety, service delivery, and operational excellence.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $31.25 per hour
- Overtime paid after 100 hours per two-week pay period
- Standby Pay: $840 per bi-weekly pay period
- Company vehicle and fuel card provided

What You'll Do
- Oversee all winter maintenance operations in Timmins and ensure contractual service standards are met.
- Manage and direct daily activities of day and night shift teams.
- Lead, coach, and support approximately 10 full-time seasonal DZ Drivers, 8 casual seasonal DZ Drivers, and an Office Administrator.
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, onboarding, and training programs.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to maintain efficient operations.
- Promote and enforce all health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee fleet readiness and coordinate maintenance and repairs with mechanics and the Mechanical Superintendent.
- Maintain daily communication with Timmins Patrol Representatives and act as the primary operational contact for the City of Timmins Contract Manager.
- Build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal departments while resolving operational issues promptly.
- Complete operational reports, maintain accurate records, assist with scheduling, workforce planning, payroll support, and administrative processes.
- Participate in operational planning and decision-making throughout the winter maintenance season.
- Work in both office and field environments, including adverse weather conditions.
- Be available for extended work hours, weekend operations, and a 24/7 on-call rotation during the winter season.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or management experience within road maintenance, transportation, construction, public works, or related industry preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Experience managing drivers, operational staff, and multiple work shifts.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience coordinating equipment maintenance and fleet operations.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
