The Role: Building Systems Technician
In this role, you will spend most of your time operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting building systems including HVAC, water treatment, and life safety equipment. You will work closely with the Facilities team, external contractors, and mall management, and be responsible for delivering outcomes related to safety, compliance, and smooth facility operations. This role balances technical system maintenance with general building and grounds work, providing clarity on expectations from day one.
What You’ll Bring
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (true non‑negotiable requirement)
- Post‑secondary education in Heating & Cooling, Electrical Systems, or a related discipline — or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fourth Class Stationary/Power Engineer Certificate or Systems Maintenance Technician training (asset)
- Experience with computerized building systems (asset)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge to others
- Availability for rotational on‑call duties
