Job Description

Are you a Structural Engineer who is bored of the same projects over and over, we have a great opportunity for a P.ENG Structural Engineer to join a company where you can thrive on a diverse number of projects, both Civil and Structural within varying organizations and industries.

As the Structural Engineer you will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Primarily responsible for planning and executing structural & civil design projects from beginning to total completion.

The typical structural & civil projects support the activities of manufacturing facilities. Examples may include but are not limited to:

Existing building modification
Addition of Custom Mezzanines
Joist Reinforcements
Pipe & Equipment Hangers,
Roof or Wall penetrations and
Concrete Equipment Pads

What You’ll Do

Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications with supervision from the engineering manager
Perform site visits to gather the required information for quoting, or execution of a project, you can’t be afraid of getting dirty and in the weeds of the site!
Inspecting completed projects to ensure they are compliant with safety standards and codes.
Participate in the development of systems related to documentation, controls, and
Preparation of studies, design criteria, and quantity estimates
Work with the clients and Project Managers on every step of the project, providing updates and reports as needed
Be comfortable with 40-50% of time in design and concept planning

What We’re Looking For

Civil Engineering degree with a minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience with industrial design, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards
P. Eng. Ontario designation required
Proficient in AutoCAD, Solid works, MS Office, and other 3D imaging software
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and structural specifications, standards, and codes
You have solid experience of Industrial construction
You will have proven experience of structural steelwork
