Job Description

The City of Saint John is partnering with Drake International to welcome new and diverse talent for Security in the Parks & Recreation Department.

We’re hiring team-oriented, motivated temporary employees to join the Parks & Recreation Department for up to 6 months. Whether you already have the skills, or this is your first application, we’re happy to train you if you’re eager to learn.

What We Offer

$20.54 an hour
A 40-hour work week
2:30pm to 12:30am
2 schedules available: Sunday to Wednesday, and Wednesday to Saturday
Personal Protective Equipment supplied (Excluding CSA approved work boots

What You’ll Do

Drive (using a City vehicle) to various City facilities/properties to make sure things are in order
Contact police if anything comes up, you are not confronting anyone
Other duties include ensuring lights are on in ball fields and painting lines on ball fields if needed (training provided if needed)

What We’re Looking For

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to drive a ½ ton truck
Applicants must undergo a driver’s abstract review and a criminal background check as part of the hiring process
Previous experience in security would be a huge asset
You come to work every day in all weather, ready to work - and you're willing to work hard (Regular attendance is expected)
Able to perform a variety of physical tasks
Ability to work with small crews or independently
Must have CSA approved work boots
