Job Description

Our client in the Packaging Industry is looking for Machine Operators to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Production Supervisors, the Machine Operator will work towards increasing efficiencies in running modern bag machines. The candidate will be responsible for achieving daily production targets while preserving quality according to customer specifications.

What We Offer:

Shift: Rotating bi-weekly, mornings, afternoons, and nights
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly rate: $21/hr
Location of work: Mississauga, ON L4Y 1S1

What You’ll Do:

Operate Weber and Garant machines, packaging at required dial speeds.
Prepare rolls.
Re-web machines.
Adjust slits, adjust/replace tucking blades, adjust and/or replace spots, change coarse/fine knives.
Cut and install the correct bottom pasters, maintain glue levels.
Work with shop floor software, label, count, and palletize.
Clean machines.
Achieve production targets.
Document and report.
Maintain quality control & assurance.
Identify and report variations and deviations.

What We’re Looking For:

3+ years’ experience in printing – packaging industry, experience on similar machines is preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Mechanically inclined and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work safely in accordance with all corporate and legislative Health & Safety standards and policies.
Attention to detail to accurately read production sheets, sample boards and schedule lists.
Must pass a criminal background check.
