We're seeking Junior Freight Forwarding Specialists to join our client's growing team in the Freight Forwarding industry in Mississauga. As a Junior Freight Forwarding Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end freight forwarding process, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with regulations. T
 
What We Offer: 
  • Location: Mississauga, ON L4W1E4
  • Pay rate: $ 26/hr. depending on experience 
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday - Days
  • Start Date – ASAP on an ongoing basis.
  • Temporary to Permanent opportunity 

What You’ll Do:  
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the transportation of goods, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with client requirements.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with carriers, ensuring competitive rates and reliable services.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on shipment status and addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Identify and resolve shipment-related issues, such as delays, damages, or customs holds, with a focus on minimizing client impact.
  • Evaluate freight options to provide cost-effective solutions while maintaining service quality and compliance.
  • Stay informed about international trade laws, customs regulations, and transportation standards, ensuring all shipments adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and provide regular performance and cost analysis reports to management.
     
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, (Freight Forwarding preferred with relevant experience).
  • 3 years of experience in freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client and carrier relationships. 
  • Proficiency in Cargo Wise Customs System, transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
