We're seeking Electric Counterbalance Forklift Operators/Material Handlers for our client in the Orillia area. As a Forklift Operator/Material Handler, you'll be responsible for managing the movement of materials within the facility, ensuring that products are handled safely and efficiently.
What We Offer:
- Location: Orillia ON L3V6H2
- Salary: $20- $22/hr depending on experience
- Shifts: Rotating continental shifts; 2 weeks of day shift (7 am-7 pm) and 2 weeks of night shift (7 pm-7 am).
- Start Date – ASAP on an ongoing basis.
- Temporary to Permanent opportunity
What You’ll Do:
- Operate a Propane and Electric Counterbalance Forklift according to the instructions provided.
- Ensure safety measures are followed while operating both manual and mechanical functions.
- Ensure film orders are properly skidded and secured with rolls standing/flat and adequate signage.
- Assist the production runs by preparing/staging materials (remove full skids, provide empty skids, etc.).
- Perform and document tow motor safety checks daily before use.
- Remove full core/wood boxes and replace with empty boxes.
- Weigh and tag full scrap boxes (or gaylords) according to material and replace with empty boxes; record any weighed scrap on your scrap reports.
- Maintain the production and warehouse areas ensuring a clean, safe and organized environment free of clutter.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Build pallets and prepare shipments for delivery.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Other duties as requested and required.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years relevant counterbalance forklift and material handling experience.
- Must have a valid forklift certification.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Must have experience loading materials and merchandise onto the trailers.
- Must have experience using material handling equipment (MHE).
- Must have a clean criminal background.
