Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their growing team.
What we offer
- Contract date: ASAP for 6 months with a potential for extension or going permanent.
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario L6H 0H2
- Pay: $ 36/hr. - $41/hr. depending on experience
- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday. including weekends if necessary.
- Hybrid Position, however, will require incumbents to be in the office initially and they may be required to come to the office periodically as needed.

What you’ll do:
Financial Analyst is responsible for providing full-service accounting, payroll, financial and all reporting for unionized and non-unionized employees. The Financial Analyst is
also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of assigned software applications, coordination and performance of the accounting and financial reporting activities of the organization to ensure that the financial information and records, administrative functions and day-to-day requirements are accurate and current.
- Prepare month/quarter/annual financial report packages (financial and statistical) for peer groups and the senior leadership team.
- Prepare financial budgets and forecasts with insightful commentaries.
- Reconcile, analyze and monitor all operational spending, including providing monthly reports of expenditures against budget allocation on request.
- Collaborate with the Quality and Performance team to incorporate statistical information for program analysis.
- Work with ADP and support team to streamline the payroll process where applicable.
- Collaborate with team to develop an insightful reporting package on labour utilization, annual sick and vacation reconciliation, yearend adjustments and T4s.
- Ensure remittances for monthly payments for WSIB, EHT, Group benefits and pension plan, HST reconciliation and reconciliation at year-end.
- Maintain up to date payroll records; oversee bi-weekly payroll administrative functions and reporting; complete deduction orders; union dues and garnishments as needed.
- Monitor ADP record, maintain accuracy.
- Prepare a biweekly cash flow estimate to mitigate cash flow risk.
- Process the month-end cycle to ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial statements.
- Review account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Maintain fundraising records, record and issue charitable receipts
- Coordinate with external Annual Audit
- Assists with the maintenance and/or implementation of accreditation standards related to this role and the organization in general. Ensure changes are accurately documented and up to date.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent. CPA designation is considered an asset
- Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant working experience, ideally in a non-profit environment and in a financial function with strong emphasis on financial operations and payroll
- Good understanding of Information Technology and systems operations
- Proficient in the use of QuickBooks and ADP, as well as Microsoft Great Plains and Share Point a strong asset.
- Strongly proficient computer skills with Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
- Knowledge of MIS-OHRS healthcare reporting systems a great asset
- Knowledge of financial reporting and funding formulas in a Not-for-Profit organization an asset
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to multi-task, manage and meet timelines, and work well under pressure.
- Ensure the safety and soundness of all accounting practices within an Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and reports in a knowledgeable and flexible manner.
- Must be fully vaccinated.
- Must pass a criminal check.
