Job Description

We're seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our client in the Courtice area.

What We Offer:

Location: Courtice, ON L1E 2R2 (On-ste)
Pay rate: $25/hr + 4% vacation pay
Shifts: Days (must be flexible as per business requirements)
Start Date – ASAP, on an ongoing basis.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate

What You’ll Do:

Implement, monitor, and maintain the strategic direction for the logistics function by planning and coordinating key logistics functions across the entire network.
Schedule, route, and ship inbound and outbound freight for all product types.
Prepare bills of landing and manifests for shipments, complying with dangerous goods/hazardous materials regulations.
Support the collection and input of data into key performance indicators that align with business objectives.
Create and document policies and procedures for logistic activities across the organization.
Manage the ongoing day-to-day relationship with the carriers.
Maintain the relationship of the freight payment vendor by using their tools while handling exceptions to transportation contracts, claims, maintaining freight rate transparency, and the EDI process between both companies.
Coordinate shipping documentation and maintain systems for overseeing the tracking and tracing of goods, ensuring all transactions and records comply with customs regulations and trade agreements (CBSA, Harmonization/Tariff Codes, Manifests, C-TPAT compliance, etc.).
Build preferred carrier list/vendor protocols and criteria for selection on any given day for each national branch.
Manage freight claims (damage, etc.).
Search for network optimization opportunities for all transportation related requirements.
Ensure compliance with all legislated and/or internal policies/procedures, including compliance of 3rd party vendors for product transit or delivery.
Lead/participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

What We’re Looking For:

Post-secondary education, preferably in Business/logistics or a related program.
Two plus years of experience in traffic, logistics, fleet, and customs functions.
ERP experience (SAP preferable) is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office-suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Must have knowledge of customs and transportation regulations.
Must be familiar with technology within the logistics field (e.g., routing software, GPS applications).
Must be flexible and adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Must pass a criminal background check.
